Trying to define The Phluid Project isn’t an easy task. It’s partly a home for queer fashion, prioritizing graphic tees right next to crocheted harnesses. It’s partly a connection to community, featuring historic LGBTQ protest designs on tees and slogans that support the most vulnerable in the queer community. But The Phluid Project is definitely a movement — and it’s definitely needed.
The Phluid Project could loosely be described as a clothing brand as much as an online store, though there is also an NYC-based retail location. The hub for queer fashion is non-gender specific, meaning there’s no gender associated with any of the items the brand carries. You shop what you like, and forget the boundaries.
Along with carrying its own line of tees, The Phluid Project also carries the works of independent queer designers. The findings are sometimes practical, sometimes outrageous, but always queer.
